Meet Sue Ann Miglino from the Kitsap DRC:
Sue Ann Miglino came to the Dispute Resolution Center of Kitsap County (DRC) in 2007 while still a student at Chapman University earning a BA in Organizational Leadership. She took the 40-Hour Mediation Training through the Dispute Resolution Center in 2007 and shortly thereafter applied to the Internship Program and began training as an Intake Specialist.
Sue worked for a couple of years as the Training and Volunteer Coordinator and for 6 years as the Intake and Youth Services Coordinator for the DRC. She has training and certification in Family Mediation, Parent/Youth, Victim Offender, Foreclosure, Systemic Family Constellation work, Facilitated Dialogue, Restorative Justice and Multi-party mediation. Since 2008 her passion lies with Restorative Practices. Sue’s Restorative training began 13 years ago with Eric Gilman’s Victim-Offender training, then in Chicago with training at the Community Justice for Youth Institute and has continued yearly with additional training including the 4 day International Institute of Restorative Practices training. Sue works restoratively, using Healing Circles, with youth who have caused harm in the community and Reentry Circles with both youth and adults who have been incarcerated or in extended drug treatment. She also facilitates Community Building Circles and high conflict multi-party disputes, using a method she calls Multi-party Restorative Facilitation (MPRF). MPRF is a unique process that combines the qualities of Restorative Circle work and the creation of questions that allow each participant to recognize their role in the development and progression of their conflict, how best to address their own needs, and how to meet the needs of others in the group.
About Stronger Together:
Stronger Together is a restorative, multigenerational community and teen positive program for people 12+. Once a month during the school year, we gather around topics of importance to our community, such as self care, positive mental outlooks, and healthy relationships, share information and resources and create a space for learning from one another.
Thank you to Rayonier for your contribution in making these sessions free to our community!
