We offer a variety of conflict resolution training opportunities including communication, conflict styles, and basic mediation training.

The training is experiential and participatory, with a variety of activities to learn and practice mediation skills. Come prepared to participate and have fun with it! We encourage participants to use examples and reflect on their own life experiences as this aids in internalizing the concepts taught. We understand that some past conflict experiences can still be painful and we only encourage you to use those that you feel comfortable using in this intimate class setting.

Teachers, Counselors, Attorneys, Ministers, Social Workers, Human Resources Supervisors & Managers, Business Professionals, Customer Service, Sales Persons, Law Enforcement, and anyone interested in learning how to understand and manage conflict.

Over the course of this training, you will learn: conflict styles and your conflict style, why conflict happens, and why it is necessary, communication skills, neutrality and confidentiality, mediation and the law, principles of conflict resolution, diversity and privilege.

This training is a foundational course for all DRC volunteer mediators. This 40-hour training meets or exceeds the regional standards for professional mediation training toward certification.
